LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAX)
NORTH COMPLEX OUTBOARD RUNWAY 24R/6L CLOSURE
September 12, 2023 to January 9, 2024
119-Day Closure
Starting Tuesday, September 12, 2023, LAX will close outboard runway 24R/6L on the north runway complex to construct new taxiway exits and complete asphalt overlay as part of the North Airfield Exit Taxiways Project. Runway 24R/6L will close continuously for 119 days from September 12th to January 9th.
Persons living near LAX may notice a change in aircraft flight activity and noise during the closure of Runway 24R/6L as aircraft that normally land on the north outboard runway (24R/6L) will instead land on the north inboard runway (24L/6R). In addition, some aircraft operations may shift from the north to the south runway complex.
LAX will continue conducting Over-Ocean Operations between midnight and 6:30 AM during this closure if weather and other operational conditions permit.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this extended closure.
